The new South Charleston Farmers Market opened Saturday, May 10, at 4006 MacCorkle Avenue, underneath the interstate overpass. The market will feature a variety of West Virginia produce and flower vendors.
“The Farmers Market has been in the works now for several years and we are excited that everything is falling into place," said South Charleston Mayor Frank Mullens.
Permanent vendors include Gritt’s Farm, DNS Farms, Steel Blooming, Gritt’s Midway Greenhouse, Honey Do Produce (also selling pasture broiler chickens), and Debbie’s Corner Greenhouse. The market will feature a variety of rotating food trucks and specialty vendors throughout the season. During the first two months, Sunset Berry Farm will be on site selling freeze-dried fruit and vegetables, and then strawberries, when they are in season.
The market will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
