An autopsy has confirmed that Gene Hackman's wife, Betsy Arakawa, died from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. The autopsy released Tuesday said that her lungs were heavy and congested. Arakawa had fluid accumulation in her chest and mild hardening of the vessels supplying the blood to the heart and body. Arakawa鈥檚 autopsy and toxicology reports were released two days after similar documents on Hackman鈥檚 death were made public. 聽His autopsy confirmed his main cause of death was heart disease, but also said he was also in the advanced stages of Alzheimer鈥檚 disease and likely had not eaten for a long time.
