Ford is recalling nearly 274,000 of its Expedition and Lincoln-branded Navigator SUVs across the U.S. due to an issue that may cause a loss of brake function while driving, increasing crash risks. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the front brake lines in these now-recalled cars 鈥渕ay be in contact鈥 with their engine air cleaner outlet pipe due to a potential installation defect. That can result in a brake fluid leak. The recall covers 223,315 Expeditions and 50,474 Navigators between model years 2022 and 2024. Ford expects that just 1% of these vehicles have the defect. As a remedy, dealers will inspect the front brake line of impacted vehicles and replace it or the air cleaner outlet pipe if necessary 鈥 free of charge.

President Donald Trump is holding out Saudi Arabia as a model for a reimagined Middle East. He's using his first major foreign trip of his term to emphasize the promise of economic prosperity over instability in a region that is reeling from multiple wars. The president says he will move to lift sanctions on Syria and normalize relations with the new government led by a former insurgent,. And he's touting the U.S. role in bringing about a fragile ceasefire with Yemen鈥檚 Houthis. But Trump also is indicating his patience is not endless. He urged Iran to make a new nuclear deal with the U.S. or risk severe economic and military consequences.

House Republicans have unveiled the cost-saving centerpiece of President Donald Trump鈥檚 鈥渂ig, beautiful bill.鈥 The legislation tallies hundreds of pages and involves at least $880 billion in cuts largely to Medicaid, the nation's health care program for more than 70 million Americans. The savings are needed to help cover the cost of $4.5 trillion in tax breaks. But it's setting off the biggest political fight over health care since Republicans tried but failed to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act during Trump鈥檚 first term. Democrats warn millions of Americans will lose coverage. And one Republican, Sen. Josh Hawley, warned his colleagues in an op-ed Monday that cutting health care to pay for tax breaks would be 鈥渕orally wrong and politically suicidal.鈥

The U.S. and China have resumed crucial tariff talks that have put the global economy on edge, but appeared to have diverging views of where the negotiations presently stand. President Donald Trump said on social media that 鈥済reat progress鈥 was being made and even suggested a 鈥渢otal reset鈥 was a possibility as the sides took their seats for the second and final scheduled day of discussions in Geneva. Beijing has yet to comment directly, but its official news agency took a tough approach Saturday, saying China will 鈥渇irmly reject any proposal that compromises core principles or undermines the broader cause of global equity.鈥 No breakthroughs were announced after 10 hours of discussions on the opening day.
